Slugify
Turn any title into a URL.
Where it came from
A "slug" is the human-readable part of a URL: /blog/what-is-a-slug. The term came from newsprint ("slug" = a short headline). Web platforms generate slugs so links are readable, indexable, and shareable.
Every CMS — WordPress, Django, Ghost — slugifies post titles automatically. It is invisible plumbing that makes the web friendlier.
How it works
Slugifying lowercases text, replaces spaces with hyphens, strips punctuation, and often transliterates accents (café → cafe). The result is safe in a URL with no encoding.
UWC slugifies your text in the browser — paste a headline, get a clean permalink fragment instantly.
